Knit one, purl none

Hey, readers! Wanna make ten bucks? Then come on over here and show me how to purl. I can knit just great, but I can't figure out how to purl. I have two books and I looked on the Web, but I can't seem to follow the pictures. It's driving me nuts. The garter stitch is only so interesting.

I've made two whole scarves, one that I intend to unravel because it's a big mess and I knit much of it while on the red-eye to MN and under the influence of Tylenol PM, and another scarf made of fluffy raspberry-colored yarn that I absolutely love and have already worn twice.

I guess I should just go find some nice yarn store on the Peninsula and have somebody show me what I'm doing wrong. Anybody know a good place? There was that great store in Menlo Park, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore. I'm getting pretty tired of yarn from Michael's, anyhow.

If I knew how to purl, I would show you how, but I have absolutely no idea what it even is. It would be nice to be able to make fluffy raspberry scarves though. I have been wishing for some nice scarves since the temps have been dropping in SF! I have definitely become a wimpy Californian when it comes to the cold.

Put us on your email list for your next play! We haven't heard anything about them in a while... and we miss you (and Rob).

You pick a color and I'll make you a fluffy scarf!

Oooooo really? How about either an olive green or a burnt orange? Or any color really :)

Who makes the fluffy raspberry yarn? It's delicious.

The variegated stuff in the photo above? Crud, I don't remember. I'll look at my LYS next time I go to see if they still have it. I still have the end of the ball of it. The stuff I made mine out of (not pictured) is that Indiecita Baby Alpaca Brush, which is divine.
