Holiday Weekend: Round Two

Back from the semi-frozen north. As if I hadn't been homesick enough, today was one of those picture-perfect Seattle days that are so beautiful that it just takes your breath away. We drove south on 1-5 at sunset, and the orange, golden sky and the deep teal blue of Lake Union were spectacular.

Now we're back here and it's crappy and raining. Go figure.

New Year's was just dandy, even though practically everyone was sick. It was lovely to see the Neuharths, and we got a surprise visit from Adam. We had Pagliacci twice, Shultzy's, Dick's, a milkshake from Kidd Valley, and an absolutely delightful meal at The Hi-Life in Ballard. Rhinestone Rosie was on vacation (grrr), but I went nuts at Acorn Street.

Did I mention how homesick I am?

I wish Pagliacci would open a branch over here, but it seems unlikely.

Sorry to miss y'all - Abbie kindly invited us to your New Year's shindig, but Liam and I were (and are) both sick, so I didn't want to have him sleep at Mum & Da's house (since he'd woken up eight times the night before).

Well, it was a pretty low-key event, so you didn't miss a whole lot. But it would have been nice to see you and stuff...
