hearts and flowers
My mom taught me how to knit last November, which was like the best present I ever got. So it was pretty fun to teach her how to knit in the round on DPNs this weekend. I gave her my beloved #8 Crystal Palace DPNs and the most beautiful skein of Manos ever. She started on a hat on Saturday, and yesterday she called to double-check how to finish the top. I always knew she was the smartest in her row. And now she wants more Manos! Ha! Welcome to the Cult of Manos, Mommy!
I'd also like to take a moment to give both of my sisters huge hugs right now. They are the greatest, and I dig them the most.

i did the same thing to my mom, only with alpaca. then i got to watch her clear off an entire shelf of baby alpaca in a LYS with one swipe of her arm. i've created a monster.

That's very sweet, I taught myself to knit, then helped my niece learn to knit who taught my sister to knit. But I must say my sister is greater then yours. na, na, na, na, and she could probably beat your sister up. Okay for some reason I'm channeling an elementery school kid right now. Just kidding, don't know what's gotten in to me.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh, the horror of the cult of Manos! I'm thinking about making a scarf or something for Yvonne out of that color, which I think she would groove on.
Oddly, I'm rather fond of your sisters too. :) Give E. a big hug for me next time you see her, okay? Liam thought he saw her the other day and was very excited, but it was (unsurprisingly) not she, just someone with similar hair.

I immediately thought of Yvonne when I saw that color. :)
And I'll definitely give E. the big hug. She can use 'em.
