Not So Bloody Tech Sunday
It's kinda weird having Tech Sunday *two Sundays* before opening, but that pesky 4th of July is in the way, so we did it today. It actually went pretty well. Nobody cried, it didn't take too long, and I didn't have to dip into my emergency Valium stash.
Not that I'm not wigging out about some prop and costume issues, but I was pretty calm today, largely thanks to the incredibly pleasant and relaxing evening at Chez Collier last night. It was sort of silly. Bob slaved away on the set all day, then invited me and Troy over and made *us* mint juleps and dinner and entertained *us*. At some point, we will have to spoil him rotten in return.

It is our strict policy to treat our guests to the utmost visiting experince. Um, unless of course we don't really like them, then we yawn a lot and stand by the front door in our PJ's.

Bob, that's what I do all the time. Hrmmmm. Could be why we don't get many visitors.
SS, wtf is Tech Sunday? What did I miss?

Ah... "Tech Sunday." It's a theatre term, also closely related to the term "Tech Week" (aka "Hell Week") in which all the technical aspects of the production (lighting and sound, primarily) get worked into the show and the lovely volunteers operating them get a chance to learn their parts of the show. Thankfully, because everyone stayed very calm and supportive and open to the process, it went very smoothly. And I agree, it probably had a lot to do with the prior post-build evening spent enjoying the peerless hospitality at the Collier's lovely home.
