Yarn-tastic!

I had a great first day at Commuknity. Everybody is so nice, and the yarn is gorgeous, and the customers were nice, and I worked on my sweater (which I left holey) and did I mention the yarn?

And then when I got home I'd gotten the new Knit Picks catalog in the mail.

Why isn't there a song about yarn? I would totally sing it.

Not surprisingly, however, I'm tuckered out. The last time I got up before 10:00 was when I was at Disneyland. And I did get to sit and put stickers on yarn (did I mention there was yarn?) and later, I sat and knitted, but there was lots of standing and walking. I think I will now have a gin and tonic and sit on my butt and knit.

Oh, yeah, and I got some Addi (not Turbos, are you nuts?) bamboo circulars to replace my craptastic aluminum straights, and, ah, purling is a joy again.

Happy first day of work! I hope you worked and played well with others and that none of the other kids teased you.

I am so jealous you work in a yarn store. Feed the addiction, baby. :D

I was wondering... is there yarn at Commuknity? :-P

man, it is a GOOD thing that place is so effing far away from my office. it's bad enough having two yarn stores within walking distance of my house.

No turbos? Do you not like turbos? I am in love with turbos, use them for everything, even slippery lace. They have the best joins out there, of course I've never tried their other needles because they aren't available in my area.

Turbos are just way too fast for me right now. I think it might have something to do with my naturally shaky hands. The grabbiness of bamboo suits me better. I'm hoping that this will change as I become a better knitter, because I do realize how slow I am, and those Turbos are sooo smooth. I want to love them. :)

You should definitely make the Lattice Lace Wrap for your mother's trip. Fate has decided. The only question is what color of Alpaca Cloud will you choose? Thanks for stopping by my blog. If you stop by again on Sunday or Monday the color question might get answered for you (hint, hint!)
