Happy Interim Day!

or

In Which Chloe and I Go on a Journey of Exploration and Discovery (and, no, It's Not One of Those "We're Celebrating Our Friendship" Things - Get Your Minds Out of the Gutter, Bob and Grace)

It was all about learnin' and teachin' at work today. Chloe taught somebody the Moebius cast-on (I just listened), then she tried to teach me how to knit Continental. I was a little resistant. I got the knitting down pretty well, but the purling Hurt My Feelings. My knitting looked like it had ridden the short bus to school, so I frogged.

Then later, I was attempting to teach myself the picot cast-on. It wasn't working quite right, and I realized it was because my normal long-tail cast-on wasn't suitable. Fortunately, the second I realized this, Sandy happened to appear and she showed me how to do a knitted cast-on. It was very cool.

It was a long day at work, but not a bad one. I got some Christmas knitting done, some Christmas yarn purchased, and some extra hours. Of course I was distracted because I had a sort of sad song stuck in my head and it would not leave, but, hey, what can you do?

Now I'm home, waiting for Rob and pizza (separately). I am not quite as hungry as I might be, because in a large and FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC package that was waiting for me on the doorstep from MY FAVORITE COUSIN EVER was some homemade jam. And since I'm out of bread, I had no choice but to get a spoon and start eating it out of the jar. Holy crap, it's good! Margar, you rock! (And hey, it was fair game. It's Interim Day.)

Darn, I was shooting for it to arrive today. :) Silly overly efficient postal service.

You know if you run out of jam from eating it with a spoon, I'll have no choice but to send more for Christmas. (We're making mango jam this weekend, I hope.)
