Open Arms
So sad, Fair is done. It was exhausting and draining and sucked up all of my weekend time, but it was the most fun I've ever had. I met and became fast friends with not just a few people, but many. Seriously, where have these people been my whole life?
Here are some people that I'm already missing, in no particular order (and there are loads more people, I just happen to have photos I like of these goofballs):
Diana. She directed French Postcards. I liked her from the very second I met her. She is utterly fascinating, and has an energy that is unmatched.
Jessica and Anita. My god, these girls know how to have a good time. I can't believe how much fun we had. I was a little intimidated the first time I saw Jessica in rehearsal, because she is freakishly beautiful, but it turns out she's one of the nicest, sweetest, silliest girls in the whole world. Except for, of course, Anita.
Kurt. He is totally charming, and has one of the best laughs I've ever heard. Every time we'd go out to Mad Sal's after Postcards, he'd upstage the show (in my eyes, anyway) by enjoying himself so vividly and wholeheartedly.
Therese. Co-director of the Other Books. In a crowd of hams and show-offs, she out-hams everyone. It is SO much fun to make her laugh. And she's extremely huggable. And I think she secretly likes pink.
Laurie. Almost impossibly gorgeous, and an absolute joy to be around. She has a sly sense of humor, but is also deliciously goofy.
Peter. Oh, my gosh. I am so nuts about Peter. He can make me laugh until I ache. He's clever and creative and so, so kind. And somewhat sick and twisted (okay, totally sick and twisted). And he has great hair.
Nathan. My beloved book captain. He's another person I liked absolutely immediately. I seriously don't know if I've ever met a more generous person, ever. And it's a little freaky how much he and I have in common.
Bob. Well, duh. Bob rocks!
Okay, I'm off to bed. I think I need a good cry.
Comments
Blush. You are entirely too, kind. It is darned freaky how much we have in common. We haven't talked politics yet, though . . .

Kate I miss you already!!! (Me whining).
I think that you are absolutely wonderful. And queen of self portraits-I love it. I'm so glad we met, it was great having drinkies with you and running amuck. You still have to teach me some knitting action, and I'm still dragging you to faire next year too. Btw, your words are too kind.
(I was accidentally drunk on Sunday after our 2nd show. I'm not sure who I said goodbye to. Shh- don't tell)

I just realized that the garter on Nathan's leg was one I found on the floor. Yuck.

Heh heh...I'm not going to comment on Bob putting strange things in his mouth right now...LOL!
Thank you for including me in your "special bunch", Kate. I was sad to see the faire end this year...just when I was really getting my "Straight Heep On"...but I have a feeling things will heat up again soon. The theatrical world is full of possibilities.
