dumber than a sack of snakes
So I'm working on this scarf for my mom for Christmas (oops, that ship has sailed). I'm knitting away, minding my own business, then I lose a needle. So I go digging for another pair. I find a slightly less desirable pair and resume knitting. I knit for about 40 rows when I think how much I hate these needles. They're super long US5s. I pick up my original needle, a shorter Brittany, and sigh, I look longingly at the writing on it and notice that it's a SIX.
FUCKFUCKFUCK. Yes, Virginia, the change in gauge is noticeable. Probably not to my mom, but I can see it. But here's how much of a dork I am. Instead of frogging, I decide to blend in the gauge change by using one US5 and one US6.
It looks okay, but I'm going sure this act of idiocy is going to get me kicked off the knitting bloggers ring.

I always use the, "if the piece was perfect it would offend [insert offended deity or deities of your choice here]" line, but as an atheist this sounds like a lousy excuse coming from me.

Hi Kate,
Chloe from Commuknity pointed me your direction for help in locating a pattern for knitted fun fur handcuffs? I'm thinking about making a pair for a friend as a gag gift for her bachelorette party. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
