oh, crap.
I totally forgot that Elizabeth is having a baby on the 24th. Dudes, what should I make my new niece? I was thinking of the baby kimono from the Summer 05 IK, or the baby tart hat from Knitty. But those are just desperation ideas. Help me out here, kids.
NO, I am NOT making another @#&%! Curlicue blanket.
I sort of don't want anything girly, unless it's Punk Rock Girly.

I am lame and have no suggestions. I'm theoretically making , but clearly not in time for the 24th (lord, is it that soon?), since I haven't even started it yet.
Stuffed animal? Last Minute Knitted Gifts has some awfully cute ones (though I think they're uncleverly made out of hand-wash yarn, which seems silly).

Whoops, bad HTML. Oh, well, the link works, and the sentence still makes sense.

That is adorable! And, yes, I've been dying to make those stuffed animals in LMKG. That's a good idear.

What about making a little receiving blanket with the pirates on it?

I second the pirates receiving blanket! But then again...I'm biased!

The baby kimono's a great idea -- if you want it to go faster, maybe substitute a heavier gauge (say, worsted) yarn? If I had it to do over again (and I most likely will), I'd do it in worsted, stockinette, with a wee skull-and-crossbones on the back.
