oh, yeah
I like, bought some yarn and stuff. SOME self-restraint was exercised, but not much. I bought some Claudia to make the Big Bad Baby Blanket (working on it - looks great), some Lorna's Laces angora to make a baby hat (done - looks great), some cashmere, some red alpaca, and I went bananas at the Brooks Farm booth (Hey, they're making a worsted weight now. What was I supposed to do?).
Then on Saturday when I went to Chico with mom and Elizabeth, I went to ANOTHER yarn store ("to get some needles") and bought enough Lamb's Pride Bulky (hey, none of the places I normally shop carries it) to make Skully.
Bad me, no biscuit. Not that I have a LOT of time to sit around here (I'm at my parents' house) to knit, but when I'm taking a break from painting/cleaning/organizing/chasing that bad baby, I've got plenty to do.

screw my yarn diet.
I know this sounds wacky, but I haven't bought any yarn in almost two months. But crap on a cracker, Stitches West starts tomorrow. I think this might be the reason for my emergence from the house. I haven't stepped foot outside since Saturday night.
Last year, it was a bit overwhelming. I was a new, insecure knitter, and I didn't know what I wanted or what I was capable of knitting. Now, watch out. Maybe I'll be able to get my mitts on some Malabrigo. Yum yum yum.
(I AM knitting, by the way. I'm making a hat, presumably for Abbie.)

there are no strings on me
Yeah, I know I was just there, but I was bored and felt like a really long-ass car ride. So shoot me.

House up
Okay, that was the world's longest strike. Three freakin' hours. And it was efficient. Oy vey. Now I have nothing to do until like, May. Clearly I need a job or something.
Until then, I plan to sleep. And give my liver a rest.
