Drag out the Dickens
First weekend of Dickens Fair was pretty great. I think - it was over so fast I hardly had time to think about it. Postcards was a blast, it was lovely seeing all my friends, but my favorite part of the day is the first hour when Nathan and I have time to walk around in the street and quietly get acclimated to the environment. It's awfully nice.
Must dash, laundry and mending await.

dude, it's a shawl!
Sadly, I can't photograph it ON myself. Y'all will have to wait until I get Nathan to shoot it for me. Here's a crappy picture of the blocking:
The shawl itself is really freaking fabulous, if I do say so myself. It's gotten great reviews from those who have seen it. Now I'm frantically working on some teensy tinsy lace edging to put on my new Dickens dress. Also frantically working on: the rest of the fucking stockings, some gloves for me, another scarf, and seaming up the project for my mom. AAAAUGH. All this today with no couch, as we're getting a new one for Christmas and it's being delivered today.
Oh, speaking of presents, boy, it's not even my birthday for a couple of days and I'm already making out like a bandit. Margaret sent me some awesome stuff off of my Amazon wishlist (I think Nathan was even more excited to see Spin and Marty than I was), Abbie sent me a card, and Nathan (who couldn't wait) gave me a complete set in great condition of Churchill's history of WWII. ROCK ON!

it's a shawl! it's a hat! It's...OH, CRAP!
So I was just sitting here mindlessly knitting the shawl (which looks great, by the way. I took it off the needles on Monday and pinned it flat, and it's fabulouso.), thinking about Christmas stuff, when I realized that I have not finished the stockings! AAARGH! I'd better get crackin'. Right after I take another silly picture, of course.
