A Tale of Two Dye Lots
Nathan's asked me to make something for a friend of his who's having a baby, and so of course I leaped at the chance to make another Big Bad Baby Blanket. This time, it's for a boy, so I chose the "Sea Dreams" colorway of Claudia Hand Painted. Imagiknit had four skeins each from two different dye lots:
Isn't that wacky? Since the yarn's going to be double-stranded, it doesn't matter. I've got six rows of seed stitch done and it looks fab.
It was a very trying visit to Imagiknit. I barely escaped with my life (and my checking account). First, they had laceweight Malabrigo. I actually squealed when I saw it. Then there was the new hand-painted Misti Alpaca. I nearly swooned. And then...100% silk laceweight from Claudia. It's unbelievably beautiful. I can only imagine the shawls it might make.
Really, I do NOT know how I got out of there without buying anything.
Comments
I've been reading too many of Bob's comments, 'cause they look like boobies to me. Different colors, yes, but boobies nonetheless.

Your minds are in the gutter. But then, so's mine.
