better late than never?
Okay, okay, so I started it LAST MARCH and then became mystified by some instruction (that now seems ridiculously simple), and threw the whole thing into a tote bag and buried it in the closet.
Well, I'm trying to clean up the UFO situation, so here is the largest object: Skully.
You know, for a book purporting to be for be beginners (I wouldn't call myself a beginning knitter overall, but it's true, I've never, ever knit a sweater.), S&B doesn't necessarily write the clearest instructions. I will admit freely that I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to put the sleeve together, and I could NOT understand the intarsia directions. Thank heavens for Vogue Knitting.
Now that I think I understand it, it's kind of fun. I want to knit skulls onto EVERYTHING!

I totally know that feeling.

I know the feeling, too.
Off the subject, but remember a while back when I mentioned that your blog is formatted all weird for me in Internet Explorer? Well, now I'm viewing it in Firefox, and it looks fine. Hm...

Internet Explorer = Devil's Spawn
Maybe a skull on a toaster cozy...

Yay for clearing out the UFOs! That's good to know about the shoulder funkiness (as I still have yet to knit Skully, but really want to for my dad).
As an FYI there are *lots* of errors on patterns in the SnB books. Some corrections are offered on the website (http://www.knithappens.com/) but many have still gone unreported.

To be fair, it wasn't an error that tripped me up, just an unclear instruction. It could have been spelled out better for the benefit of newbie sweater knitters.
