gauge is for chumps
Well, the pink dustbunny shawl is done. It took more yarn than the pattern called for, which I thought was weird since I was using the specified yarn on the specified needles. Turns out my gauge is wrong. Way wrong.
The shawl is too big to block. I rinsed it out and attempted to stretch it out over my ginormous blocking board, and it's TOO BIG to fit on it. Seriously. I can hold the cast-on edge up to my chin and the point touches the floor. I don't own a tape measure that's long enough to measure the wingspan in one stretch of the tape. It's wider than my queen-sized bed.
Gaaaah. I'm not sure what to do. Move to a larger apartment, I guess.
Comments
1. Buy a real tape measure.
2. Think "sari" instead of "shawl".

Uh, Bob, lace = see through. Oh wait. Nevermind. I forgot who I was talking to..
Oh, and Kate? Maybe you should get a king size bed. Then it'd fit on your bed, no problem.

It sure is pretty, though.
Hmmm. A king sized bed sounds good, but that brings us back to a bigger apartment. Not yet, I'm afraid.
